Have you ever attended to a yoga class and thought, I can't do that, I don't have the flexibility? Or thought, I wish we did more of x, y and z because I'm sore and tight there. I know I have. Yoga can be an amazing tool for athletes to improve strength, balance, flexibility and breath control. But sometimes yoga classes and teachers don't take into account the needs of the athlete. That shouldn't deter you from finding teachers you like and going to their classes, but you should understand your needs as an athlete so you can modify the yoga class accordingly. This workshop will provide you with the tools to understand the yoga practice and yourself as an athlete and how to bring the two worlds together. We will discuss how to prevent injuries, the difference between mobility and flexibility and how to modify postures to optimize your performance.
