Spring Training: A Runner's Guide to Cross Training

June 25, 2016 // 11:30am - 1:30pm

Join Stephanie Ring for a 2 hour playshop with 20 workout ideas and 8 week guide. 1st hour discussion and 2nd hour strength training/recovery yoga class.

Running is a sport of distance, speed and mental strength. We can train for this sport much without technical instruction or equipment. That being said, to become a better, more efficient runner, we need to do more than just run mile after mile. Functional movements like squats, deadlifts, box jumps, sit-ups, push-ups, kettlebell swings and jump rope, when incorporated into a workout, increase metabolic conditioning while improving strength. Increasing strength through cross training will improve your speed and endurance without adding more miles to your training program. In this two hour workshop, we will discuss the benefits and techniques for increasing your cross training, provide you with 20 workout options for the upcoming weeks as well as put it into action. You will leave feeling inspired.
